Giclee Prints are simply a fancy word for fine art prints. It is the latest advancement in printmaking technology for the sole purpose of incredibly gorgeous and detailed fine art reproductions. Giclee, meaning ‘to spray’ or ‘to squirt’ in French was originally developed in 1989 as a way to pronounce the plate-less method of printing. These quality images are produced by high resolution digital scans, up to 1800 DPI and printed with archival inks onto various materials, such as canvas, fine art, and photo base papers. And lastly, the digital files are sent through a RIP to a high performance eight color printer. The giclee printing process provides better color accuracy than other means of reproduction.
